We live in a beautiful and tragic world. Scrolling through news stories every day inspired me, broke me, and overwhelmed me until I just had to find a way to express my heart. So here it is – my reflections on our world, told through my thoughts and poems.

Thank you for stopping by Our Time in Rhyme

About me:

Hey!

Thanks for checking out my blog – I was afraid no one but my mother would.

I’m a student at the University of Texas at Austin, trying to do my part in changing the world. I was born in New Delhi, India and raised in Texas by my loving and supportive parents who have always encouraged me to express myself, and I am surrounded by amazing friends, family, and mentors who give me the strength to be myself. It is thanks to them that I have mustered the courage to put my writing out into the world.

I have grown the most through traveling, could live off nothing but mac ‘n’ cheese, and am usually the friend taking too many photos.

But Our Time isn’t about me. It’s about us and our world. Essentially, I am sharing with you the inner workings of my mind as I react to what’s happening around us, via poetry.

I have always loved to write, but was too scared to put anything out there. But so much has been happening and I realized it was my turn to speak up – both to stand up to injustices and tragedies, and to commemorate the beauty.

Welcome to my thoughts about our time – in rhyme.

Much love,

Nishtha
